A new beginning: Kowski's diary
The acceptance of our book chapter (Bonnie and I) in a book on Virtual Worlds, edited by William Bainbridge, program director at NSF, kind of painted a clear direction for my scientific career. Culture + Virtual Worlds (VW), these two terms resonance throughout a great deal of my recent (2 years) writings. This new website, a remake from the older kowym.com, marked this transition.
This website is dedicated to my thoughts and on-going findings in VW research. Kowski is the name I used most frequently in forums, IRCs, and also a research guild in World of Warcraft called Terra Nova. I am also going to focus on cultural development in VWs. I do not think there is ONE culture in VWs. Every group of human beings forms repeatable patterns of behaviors. Therefore, every group warrants a cultural description. But that would be too massive to describe. And I will generalize whenever I deemed appropriate.
You will notice there are many articles written before this one. They are articles which I had written in my blogs, a professional one, a private one, and a research blog (which I only share with Bonnie).
I looked forward to your readings and comments on my writings.
Thank you Ruy Cervantes for introducing me to Drupal.
