Salt Lake City has beautiful mountains to the north and east. It is a city built around a religion (Mormon). Perhaps this is why it is very well regulated. I spent one and half day looking around.

Wednesday: TP and I reached Salt Lake City at noon. We went to our work. That evening, we went to see (1) Temple Square.

Thursday: TP went back to Minneapolis late afternoon. Without car, I took the light rail to downtown. Most shops were closed. I saw the mountains in the North. I decided to go closer. I took another light rail to the University. To my surprise, it bought me right to the (2) hills. It was beautiful and I had a tired evening climbing ...

Friday: I wanted to trek in the mountains but I don't drive. As such, I figured that no one can provide me the direction. I called the cab company and found that going to (3) Big Cottonwood from my hotel cost $56 one way. "Perhaps I should just go to the meseum?" That morning, I took a cab to downtown. I saw that most shops were closed - it was Good Friday. Finally, I decided to give it a shot. To save cost, I took the light rail far south. From there, I called for a cab and met a nice guy David. He was a mountain ethusiast and was willing to cut the rate which include going back to the hotel. Even nicer, he took me to the ranger, who adviced that I should not trek at this time of the year due to falling rocks. As a result, David offered to bring me for a ride at a fixed rate. He even chuck in a ride to (4) City Creek Canyon on the way back. I took the flight home at 4:55 pm in the evening.

Within are my humble collection of photos. The map below shows my journey. Click on anyone of them to view my photos and simple narratives. They are (1) Temple Square, (2) Hills behind University of Utah, (3) Big Cottonwood Canyon, and (4) City Creek Canyon.
